About MakeASkill

MakeASkill is a free tool that helps everyday people get better answers from AI, at work and at home.

What it does

You tell us what you want help with and answer a few quick questions. We turn your answers into a skill: a short set of instructions that tells your AI who you are and how you like things done. One skill works in any AI, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Claude, and we keep the setup steps for each one up to date as the apps change.

Why it exists

Most people get generic answers from AI because it knows nothing about them. Every chat starts from scratch, so you end up explaining the same things again and again. Writing good instructions fixes that, but most people don't have the time or know where to start. We built MakeASkill so anyone can do it in plain English, without any technical know-how.

How it's free

Making a skill costs you nothing, up to 5 a day. We ask for your email so we can send you a copy and keep the daily limit fair. In future we plan to cover our costs with clearly labelled sponsorships and affiliate links. We aren't running either yet. You can read exactly how we make money, and we never sell your data. Who's behind it

MakeASkill is a small, independent project. It isn't affiliated with OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Anthropic or any other AI company.
