What's a skill? (The two-minute version)
A skill is like a recipe card for your AI. It's a small file that tells your AI who you are, what you need and how you like it done, so you don't have to explain it all again every time.

once
Your skill
a small file about you & the job
Your AI
gets it right every time
Why does it help?
AI is clever, but it doesn't know you. Ask "help me write an email to my landlord" and it has to guess your situation, your tone and what you want to happen. So you get something generic, then spend ages correcting it.
A skill fills in those blanks once. Next time you ask, your AI already knows the background, so the first answer is the useful one.
An everyday example
Imagine a babysitter. The first time, you leave a note: bedtime is 7:30, no screens after dinner, the little one is allergic to nuts. That note is a skill. You write it once, and every babysitter gets it right.
What's inside the file?
- About you: the background your AI should remember
- How to help: the steps it should follow
- What a great answer looks like: so you get it in a handy layout
- Always / never: your must-dos and no-gos
How do I add it to my AI?
We email you simple steps for your AI. Usually that means opening one file, copying the text and pasting it into your AI's settings. In ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot you can also paste it at the start of a chat. Claude can take the file directly.
Common questions
Do I need to be technical?
Not at all. You answer a few questions in plain English and copy and paste the result into your AI. That's it.
Which AI does it work with?
ChatGPT, Gemini, Meta AI, Copilot, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity and Mistral's Le Chat. Your file includes a version for each, so you can switch any time.
Is it free?
Yes. You can make 5 skills a day for free, with no account.
Is it safe?
A skill is just written instructions. It doesn't give your AI access to anything new. You can read every word before you add it.
