How MakeASkill makes money
Short answer: making a skill is free. We pay for that with affiliate links and clearly labelled sponsorships, and neither can buy a better review.
What is an affiliate link?
It's a link that tells the company we sent you. If you buy something, they pay us a commission. You don't pay any more. Every affiliate link on our site is labelled "Ad" right where you see it, before you click. Right now we haven't joined any affiliate programmes, so none of our links are affiliate links.
What does "Sponsored" mean?
A company has paid for a spot, for example in our newsletter or the featured tool on our homepage. It's always labelled "Sponsored" or "Ad".
What can't money buy?
- A place in our "best" lists, or a higher position in them
- A better verdict or a hidden downside
- Changes to the review scores we show
We follow the ASA's guidance on affiliate marketing and recognising ads.
