Brand Voice skill for Gemini

A brand voice Gem gives everyone on the team the same writer. Paste in a draft and it comes back in your tone, using your words and avoiding the ones you've banned.

How the skill works

1. Identify the channel (social, email, web, ad) from context or ask
2. Apply the voice traits (e.g. warm, direct, witty) in order of priority
3. Swap generic phrases for approved vocabulary
4. Check against the banned-words list
5. Return the rewrite plus a one-line note on what changed

Built-in rules

• Preserve facts, prices and legal wording exactly
• Respect channel length limits
• Never use the banned words, even if they appear in the original

Example

You: “Make this product update email sound like us.”
Result: A tighter, friendlier email with the brand's sign-off and two jargon terms replaced.

How to install in Gemini

Create a new Gem (gemini.google.com → Gems → New Gem) and paste the instructions into Instructions. From November 2026 Gems become Gemini skills, and you can upload SKILL.md under Settings → Skills.

Add your brand guidelines PDF as a Knowledge file in the Gem for best results.
