Meeting Notes Summary skill for Claude
Most meeting summaries fail the same way: they retell the conversation instead of capturing what changed. This skill makes Claude extract only decisions, owners and dates, so the summary can be pasted straight into Slack or an email.
Customise this skill free →What it's good for
- Summarising a Zoom or Teams transcript
- Turning scrappy bullet notes into a follow-up email
- Building a running decision log across weekly meetings
How the skill works
- Identify the attendees and the meeting purpose from the notes
- List every decision made, one line each, in past tense
- Extract action items as owner + task + due date (mark 'TBC' if missing)
- Note open questions that were raised but not resolved
- Finish with a 2-sentence TL;DR at the top
Built-in rules
- Never assign an owner who wasn't named in the notes
- Keep each action item under 20 words
- Flag ambiguous deadlines rather than guessing
Example
You: “Here's the transcript from our product sync, summarise it.”
Result: A TL;DR, 4 decisions, 6 action items in a table with owners and dates, and 2 open questions.
